Inspectorate Team

The Inspectorate is a three-member team established on 26 July 2006 in accordance with Part 5 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005. The Chief Inspector is Kathleen O’Toole . The other two posts on the Inspectorate team are currently being filled by a recruitment competition run by the Public Appointments Service

The Inspectorate employs a capable staff of Irish civil servants.

From time to time, the Inspectorate engages police staff from outside the State and other technical experts as necessary to assist with individual inspections.
